Welcome to this week’s roundup of the developments shaping our industry, where creativity, commerce and innovation continue to reshape culture. From major creative appointments and cultural partnerships to significant shifts across fashion and business, here are the stories catching our attention this week.
HIGHLIGHTS
FASHION
ICICLE has appointed former Gucci Creative Director Sabato De Sarno as its new Creative Director, marking a new chapter for the Paris and Shanghai-based house. He will oversee womenswear, menswear, accessories and eyewear, with his first collection set for Autumn/Winter 2027–28. The appointment follows Kering’s minority investment in ICICLE’s parent company, ICCF, announced earlier this year.
ECONOMY
Jaguar Land Rover has announced a major restructuring plan targeting £1.7 billion in savings, as tariffs, geopolitical uncertainty and intensifying competition continue to weigh on the business. The group plans to cut around 4,000 jobs, nearly 10% of its global workforce, through voluntary redundancies over the next two years. The restructuring aims to bring JLR’s break-even point back to around 300,000 vehicles annually.
COLLABORATION
Desigual has tapped Vivian Jenna Wilson for its Fall/Winter 2026 campaign, Born to Disobey, pairing her with DESI 84, a humanoid robot, in a playful exploration of individuality, creativity and the growing influence of technology. The campaign positions human intuition and personal expression against the idea of algorithmic perfection.
CULTURE
Dior, under Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, is partnering with independent film studio A24 on a new two-year cultural collaboration centred around New York’s historic Cherry Lane Theatre. Dior will become the theatre’s main partner, supporting a programme spanning film, theatre and fashion-related events, while also supporting selected A24 productions.
